Galas & Bashes & Things

There is some serious culinary activity on the horizon; mark your calendars for Barbara Lynch‘s first ever Blizzard Bash on Friday, February 8th. The chef and general epicurean maven, whose restaurants include No. 9 Park, Sportello, B&G Oysters, The Butcher Shop and Menton, is hosting the epic shindig to benefit her namesake foundation. Aside from raising funds to support the goals of creating healthy and inspired futures for community youths, it’s also going to be one heck of a party. More than thirty chefs from all over the country (including a couple hometown favorites – Jamie Bissonnette, Matt Jennings, Will Gilson, Rachel Klein, Tim Cushman, Gabriel Frasca and Amanda Lydon) will be joining forces with drink-makers extraordinaire from near and far. The unforgettable night of food and drink runs from 7:30 to 10:30pm at the Boston Children’s Museum and costs $225 per person (though if you wanted to spring for the VIP treatment for $375 per person, you could get there at 6:30pm, enjoy an exclusive reception with Ms. Lynch and her chef friends Daniel Boulud, Mark Ladner and Joseph Lenn, and then head to The Industry Thing after-party). Of course, if you don’t want to go the way of the VIP, but you’d still like to party from 10:00pm to 1:00am, you can opt for a $75 ticket to The Industry Thing, held at Villa Victoria in the South End, separately. There’ll be music, dancing, late night snacks and drinks in case you didn’t get your fill at the bash. All proceeds go to benefit The Barbara Lynch Foundation’s friends at Lovin’ Spoonfuls. If you’re inclined to really go all out, think about heading to Menton on Thursday the 7th for the Relais & Chateaux Grand Chef Gala Dinner. Beginning at 6:30pm, guests will be treated to a reception followed by a five-course menu prepared by gastronomic heavyweights Barbara Lynch, Daniel Boulud, Mark Ladner, Joseph Lenn and Michael Tusk. Tickets to the once-in-a-lifetime meal are $1000 per person and available online
