From Newton to New York

This month, July 22nd to be exact, chef Mark Allen and pastry chef David James hit the James Beard House as part of the Rising Star of American Cuisine series. Some of the items on the menu for the evening: duck rillettes with mustard aioli; heirloom tomato and pickled shrimp salad with summer truffle vinaigrette; seared salmon loin with potato gnocchi, spinach and lemon butter sauce and a napoleon of Mascarpone panna cotta with caramelized cherries and cherry sorbet. The price for the evening is $90 per person for Beard members and $115 for guests.
