Fifth Annual Cooking for a Cause

Pencil it in – Cooking for a Cause is coming up on Thursday, March 27th and as usual the event, a benefit for the East End House, pulls together some of the city’s most celebrated chefs for a great evening of food and wine. Culinary co-chairs for the evening Dante de Magistris of dante and Chris Schlesinger of East Coast Grill have enlisted the help of chefs at Cambridge-based restaurants like Rialto, Temple Bar, UpStairs on the Square, Craigie Street Bistrot and Chez Henri. They’ve also pulled some talent from kitchens across the Charles including KO Prime, Excelsior, Tremont 647, No. 9 Park, Les Zygomates, Grill 23 & Bar, Pigalle and Sage. As Wine Chair, Les Zygomates’ Geoffrey Fallon has gotten his friends at Cisco Brewers, Triple Eight Distillery and Westport Rivers Winery, among others to donate an assortment of wines, liquors and beers for the evening and after dinner sweets and coffee will be provided by the folks at Kickass Cupcakes, Petsi Pies and Armeno Coffee Roasters. The evening, which gets underway at 6:00pm at The State Room at 60 State Street, also includes a silent auction with items trips, tickets and tricked out tasting dinners at area restaurants. Proceeds from the event support the East End House, on of the country’s oldest continuously operating community centers. Tickets cost $150 each and can be purchased by calling 617.876.4444.
