Market Tour & Beer Lunch

Trying to do your part to support local agriculture, but find yourself a little intimidated by the obscure organics at the farmer’s market? Does “farm-to-table” become “farm-to-garbage-bin” too often in your kitchen? Never fear: Craigie on Main‘s Tony Maws is ready to answer your kale-related queries with a Farmer’s Market Class. Meet up with Maws at the Union Square Farmer’s Market at 10:00am on any of three upcoming summer Saturdays (June 17th, August 26th, or September 16th) for a market tour and how-to’s for some of the available produce, followed by a stroll up the street to Savenor’s butchery to discuss cutting and cooking all manner of meats. Finally, you’ll head over to Maws’ Somerville restaurant, Kirkland Tap & Trotter, for lunch and a Notch Brewing beer tasting. Tickets are $150, and you’d better grab them soon—class size is limited to keep things intimate and make sure everyone’s questions get answered. You can reserve your spot online or call 857.259.6585 for details.
