Curling at The Liberty Hotel

Liberty Hotel Facebook

If you’re in the market for a fun new outdoor activity, try curling at The Liberty Hotel where they’ve set up a rink (for as many as six players) on their private patio. Reserve a spot for some wintry al fresco fun and get a crash course in this shuffleboard-like Olympic sport, which is sometimes referred to as “chess on ice” because of all the strategery involved – who knew? Your pre-paid package ($50 before tax and processing fees) includes 45 minutes of rink time, a score card with instructions, a quart of toasty tomato soup, four Wagyu sliders and cookies. You can add on boozy accompaniments like a bottle of prosecco, mason jars of old fashioneds or carafes of Ancho Hot Chocolate. It’s not a regulation rink (so serious diehard curlers, chill out) and the space is unheated so you’ll want to bundle up and maybe reserve an apres-curling spot in The Liberty Bar to warm up when you’re done. Get all the details (including info on their COVID-19 cleaning protocols) on the Eventbrite page when you sign up. There are slots available on Friday and Saturdays throughout the month of January so get a move on and get curling.
