Loco Taqueria + Oyster Bar takes the “cinco” in Cinco de Mayo very seriously with five full days of festivities. Head to the Southie spot from Monday, May 1st through Friday, May 5th for all the Baja-style bevvies and tacos you can handle to give this hallowed holiday your all.
Each day features a special drink or cocktail, and all week you can enter some seriously sweet giveaways (think: a VIP table at Tuesday’s Red Sox game, or a trip to Cisco Brewers on Nantucket). Kick off the celebration with an Island Creek Shucking Party on Monday, where you can learn to shuck with the shellfish pros and sip on seltzers from Viva Tequila (grab a ticket here for $50). Bring an appetite on Tuesday for the annual Taco Eating Contest, which you can wash down with a round of beers from Cisco, and Wednesday you can sip like a king on drink specials with Don Julio Rosado Tequila. Thursday is all about the large format drinks, so grab your crew and head over for live music from Matty Sheehan and DJ Matty Smith. And for Friday — the big day — there’ll be live music all day starting at 1:00pm, plus if you order from the special Piñata Drinks List, you’ll receive a piñata filled with treats, prizes and swag.
