The American Frozen Food Institute has staged a Chef Challenge on Monday, September 8th at New York’s hip Flatotel. As AFFI spokesperson, chef Felino Samson of Bomboa is tasked with demonstrating to audience members and panelists, along with chefs Chris Siverson of Bridgewaters and Mariusz Lukasik of Moda Restaurants, how easily frozen ingredients can be incorporated into different menus at home and in a restaurant. The three competing chefs will be given 25 minutes to prepare a meal with an array of frozen ingredients readily available at the average consumer’s local grocery store. The ingredients needed to prepare the meal will cost less than $30 and will be total surprise to the chefs. A panel of 5 people will review each entry for convenience, ease, time, taste and value demonstrated to consumers.
