Chez Henri’s First Rum-ble

Since his 2001 trip to Cuba, chef Paul O’Connell, has encouraged his patrons to explore the Cuban take on the post-prandial – Anejo rum, served straight up and coupled with a good cigar. On Monday, June 16 at 7:00pm, Chez Henri presents its first annual RUM-BLE, an evening of Cuban food and music, culminating with a flight of four rums paired with desserts and a cigar. The price for the entire evening is $85 per person, though if you’d like to enjoy dessert only, plus rums and cigar (served at 9:00pm) the price is a mere $30 per person. Head to the (at least for the moment) still smoke-friendly town of Cambridge for Paul O’Connell’s shrimp anticuchos with pickled okra; hearts of palm and citrus salad; rum and mango-glazed pork loin with crispy skin and the “Latin dessert quartet”. Stick around for four 1 oz. samplings of cask-aged premium rum from Central and South America and a discussion of each by a rum expert from Horizon Beverage Company. Tropical juices will be available for those who prefer mix-your-own to straight up. Call 617.354.8980 for reservations and additional information.
