Chefs for Clefts: A Night in Colombia

The Tip Tap Room Facebook

Eat with your mouth and spend with your heart at The Tip Tap Room’s 5th annual Chefs for Clefts fundraiser on Monday, October 29th. Owners of the Beacon Hill staple — chef Brian Poe and Gordon Wilcox — invite you to the charitable fête that’ll directly benefit the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Global Surgical Initiative.

Each year, Dr. Jay Austen and his team travel to Cartagena, Colombia to help children with facial deformities, cleft lips and burns who would otherwise not have access to any care. It’s a pretty incredible project and mission, and while you can’t travel south with the docs themselves, you can show your support by attending the event from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Tickets are $80 in advance for those on top of it (stragglers, sorry, the price bumps up to $100 at the door — but hey, it’s for a good cause). Included with your ticket is a whole bunch of Colombian inspired hors d’oeuvres, a live auction of three-course dinners for ten from some of Boston’s best chefs and an open bar with beer, wine and cocktails.

Mix and mingle with some of the city’s top culinary talent who’ll be onsite, including: Andy Husbands of The Smoke Shop, Lydia Shire of Scampo, David Spinazzola of The Tip Tap Room, Captain Kidd at Woods Hole, Chris Coombs of Boston Chops, Tim Hixson of Casa Cana, Mark Romano of Highland Fried, Will Gilson of Puritan & Company, Marc Orfaly of ReelHouse and Jamie Bissonnette of Toro, Coppa and Little Donkey. Sounds awesome? You in? Purchase your tickets here.
