Chefly Art on Display

It’s no secret chefs have a creative streak, but you might be surprised to discover how many of them pursue artisitic endeavors outside the kitchen. On Monday, April 22nd, three talented chefs show off their other art forms at 51 Lincoln. From 7:00-9:00pm, the Newton restaurant will be transforming its dining room into a gallery and displaying works from Ole’s Erwin Ramos (photography), Sweet Basil’s Dave Becker (pottery), and 51 Licoln’s own Jeff Fournier (paintings), all of which will be available for purchase (and all of whom were featured in this recent article by Brian Samuels in Edible Boston). There’ll be light hors d’oeuvres from all three restaurants and a cash bar featuring a special cocktail with locally made St. Elder liqueur. Proceeds from all pieces sold, as well as those from the bar, will benefit MassArt’s scholarship fund. Admission is free and there’s no need to RSVP; just pop in for an evening full of art (in a myriad of forms).
