Get in the spirit of Carnival at Trade’s Tsiknopempti Dinner scheduled for Thursday, February 24th. Tsiknopempti, which translates to Smoky Thursday (or sometimes Charred Thursday or also sometimes Smelly Thursday, depending on who you ask), is the Thursday before Carnival (that’s eleven days before the start of Greek Orthodox Lent) and generally revolves around around eating lots of grilled meats – the best kind of event!
Chef-owner Jody Adams & her crew at Trade are teaming up with The National Hellenic Society and Alpha Omega Council to raise a glass (and a fork) to this delicious Greek tradition. The evening starts at 5:30pm with a cocktail hour and passed appetizers featuring the work of celebrity chef and author Diane Kochilas, followed by a seated Greek inspired dinner paired with Greek wines. Tickets are $200 each and seats are super limited. Be sure to grab yours online because this event is for two kinds of people: Greeks, and everybody else who wishes they were Greek.
