Celebrate Boston’s Rising Stars

The folks at StarChefs are highlighting some of Boston’s up-and-coming culinary talent – from chefs and restaurateurs to ice cream makers and sommeliers – in their Rising Stars Restaurant Week. Get in on the fun (and, more importantly, the food and drink) and add these spots your must-try hit list from Monday, September 21st through Sunday, October 4th when each of the 22 winners (or most, anyway) will be featuring a special dish, dessert or drink on their respective menus for in-house dining and/or take-out.

Get to Toro to try Josh Elliott’s grilled lamb chops with chermoula spices, date syrup and mint. Or maybe swing by Alcove for a two-fer: Chef Brian Paszko’s Atlantic scallop crudo with yuzu, prosecco soubise, sea grapes and caviar, and Bartender Will Piquette’s Flower Box made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, calvados, lavender, lemon and bitters. And, for dessert, scoop up some carrot cake ice cream, with cream cheese swirl and waffle cone from New City MicroCreamery’s Alyssa Lieberman.

The citywide celebration of these talented and hard-working F&B professionals will, of course, adhere to all the pandemic-appropriate guidelines so be sure to bring your mask as you work your way around town. Scope the complete list of winners and the handiwork you’ll be able to enjoy on the StarChefs website and start mapping out your Rising Stars Restaurant Week route.
