Caffe Umbra’s Winning Tapas Menu

Caffe Umbra celebrates its September victory at the James Beard Tapas Challenge by bringing the menu (and the trophy) home to its loyal South End fan base. Chef Laura Brennan’s menu of petite choucroute garni with housemade saucisson and cured pork belly; duck two ways – seared breast and confit ravioli with espresso salt and crispy shallots; and crispy beef short rib terrine with celery root remoulade and porcini peara sauce beat out menus from Gabriel Frasca of Spire and Barbara Lynch of No. 9 Park. Brennan will be recreating the triumphant menu on Tuesday, November 30th. The dinner costs $65 per person and will be paired with wines selected by No. 9 Park sommelier Cat Silirie. Call Caffe Umbra at 617.867.0707 for reservations and more information.
