How about a whole week of good reasons to drink rum? If you need a little arm twisting to indulge, check out the lineup for this year’s Boston Rum Week, which is chock full of tasting flights, craft cocktails, and rum-soaked parties that’ll delight your inner pirate from Sunday, September 15th through Sunday. September 22nd.
Kick the week off in Burlington with Row 34 & Privateer on Sunday, September 15th at The Return of the Three Bar-Tenors. Bob McCoy from Privateer, Jared Sadoian from Cambridge Street Hospitality and Vannaluck Hongthong from Row 34 will be stirring and blending a bevy of Privateer-based sips from 4:00 to 6:00pm at chef Jeremy Sewall’s stylish oyster palace, and naturally there’ll be some tasteful, rum-friendly snacks to keep you satiated. Snag tickets here for $50. Wusong Tiki Bar is throwing the official kick off party on Monday, September 16th with the New England Tiki Society — alas, tickets are sold out, but you can try your luck with the waiting list by signing up here.
Later on in the week, check out the Boston Rum Week Extravaganza on Friday, September 20th at Burlington Wine & Spirits. From 6:00 to 8:00pm there will be a huge walk-around-style tasting of more than 60 rums, plus some “lightning rounds” where rum owners and reps will present their brands with 10 to 15-minute presentations. Check out the whole lineup and grab tickets here for $10. Keep your wits about you, because it’s a marathon night as Row 34 is throwing an after party following the tasting, with a special cocktail menu featuring Bounty, Chairman’s, and more starting at 9:00pm. No tickets are necessary to the Row party, just bring a few bucks for the cash bar.
