Boston Oyster Bash

If you’re a fan of bivalves, booze and afternoon parties, then clear your schedule for Sunday, October 7th — you’ll be attending the first annual Boston Oyster Bash. It’s everything an oyster lover could possibly dream of: over 4,000 oysters (yes… four. thousand.) from the top farms throughout New England will be partnered up with cocktails & spirits, thanks to the Official Pairing Committee (really) which is made up of the area’s best bartenders and a panel of trade professionals. The event is the brainchild of the folks who’ve brought you Thirst Boston for the past few years (a cool company called OFFSITE, for those not in the know), so you can bet their beverage expertise will really shine through.

Other food will be available besides bivalves, and there’ll even be an Oyster Shucking Competition for both amateurs and those with more experience busting open the shells (plus you’ll save $40 on your ticket just by entering!). Best of all? The whole bash is aiming to be a zero-waste event, meaning everything there is recyclable or compostable. Plus, a portion of proceeds will go to the Massachusetts Oyster Project, which works to restore the state’s coastal environment. Snag your tickets soon so that you can slurp your way to seafood bliss from 2:00 through 6:00pm at the Innovation & Design Building in the Seaport.
