Where to Marathon

On Monday, April 17th, Boston will be bustling with Marathon happenings. For those who want to step away from the route, local restaurants are offering special brunches and lunches where you can post up to while away Patriot’s Day. Read on for the options and book your spot.

Alden & Harlow
It’s burgers all day at Michael Scelfo’s Harvard Square spot. Alden & Harlow will open at 11:00am with beefed up menu items, including a la carte specialty burgers and snacks available until they run out. ArtBar
Whether you’re running or rooting from the sidelines, ArtBar is at the ready with a prix fixe recovery menu. From 3:00-10:00pm, they have a three-course menu available for $26.20, featuring dishes like spring pea ravioli, the ArtBar burger, chicken wings and then some. Book a seat by calling 617.806.4122.

Bar Mezzana
Take advantage of the holiday and brunch with Bar Mezzana. Chef Colin Lynch and team will be opening their doors at 10:30am for plates like scrambled egg with chive and caviar, cacio e pepe spaghetti, housemade pastries and more. Brasserie Jo
Around the corner from the Marathon finish line, chef Nick Calias and the Brasserie Jo team have a special a la carte menu planned. Guests can sit down to elegant French plates like lemon fusilli with rabbit ragout and salt roasted rainbow trout with lentils, full of recovery carbs and proteins. Lunch runs 11:00am to 3:00pm and reservations are available by calling 617.425.3240.

Centre Street Café
Celebrate Patriot’s Day with a special Monday brunch at Centre Street Café. The JP spot will have their a la carte mid-morning menu on offer from 9:00am to 2:30pm, so you can dine on choices like biscuits & gravy, fried egg sandwiches with pancetta and Parmesan or mac & cheese with fontina and smoked ham. Chopps
Chopps welcomes marathon-ers with celebratory steak (and then some). The Burlington restaurant will treat runner to 15% off their food bill with a Marathon bib or medal. Lunch hours are 11:30am-2:30pm and dinner is 5:30-10:00pm—reservations can be made by calling 781.221.6643.

Coppersmith
Make your way to Southie for Marathon Monday with Coppersmith. The expansive restaurant (sporting TWO indoor food trucks) will have race footage running on their 12-foot projection screens and bar TVs, alongside a la carte menus from chef Jason Heard. Call 617.658.4352 for more details.

Grill 23
Grill 23 is opening early in honor of Marathon Monday, so you can step away from the race and stop in for midday dining. Starting at 12:00pm, they have an a la carte menu of lunch dishes and Marathon specials, like steak frites, a tuna burger and an array of raw bar and beef options. Hojoko
Start your day in the city with help from Hojoko. The Verb Hotel’s Japanese izakaya is starting service at 7:00am with a la carte morning dishes, like their beloved Breakfast Sando: housemade maple sausage, two fried eggs and melted cheese on a warm croissant. Direct any questions to 617.670.0507.

Met Back Bay
