Burgers are the backbone of grilling season and on Wednesday, August 14th, you can cast your vote for the top one around town at Boston magazine’s 8th annual Battle of the Burger. For the past few months, passionate patty lovers have been showing their support for the 40+ restaurants participating in the competition. The contest comes to a close at Flynn Cruiseport, where the 20 finalists are pulling out the propane and flipping their spatulas — fighting right to the very end! The prize? Bragging rights and the title of “Burger Battle Champion” as crowned by co-hosts chef Tiffani Faison and Boston magazine food editor Scott Kearnan. Among the chef contenders are Mario Vasquez from ArtBar, Nick Dixon from Lincoln Tavern and Ignacio Lopez from The Merchant.
Beyond the bun, you’ll find plenty of eats for the non-meat lovers as well including side dishes, sweets and even seafood. Live music from Hot Mess Band and DJ Ryan Brown will keep you dancing all evening long and if that’s not your speed, spend your time hitting up the lawn games. Part of ticket proceeds will go towards Family Reach, a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the financial burden of cancer.
