Battle of the Burger and The Cue

Boston Magazine

Burgers and barbecue are the Beatles and Stones of summertime dining: classics that never get old. And what better way to enjoy them than in back-to-back parties down on the waterfront celebrating the best the city has to offer in each mouthwatering category? Boston Magazine has you covered, taking over Cruiseport Boston to host The Cue and the Battle of the Burger. Check it out:

On Tuesday, August 14th, get down to the water for The Cue, Boston Magazine’s 5th annual barbecue and cocktail fiesta featuring some of Boston’s best chefs strutting their smoky stuff with a feast of grilled meats, endless side dishes, and craft cocktails. General admission tickets are $55 which get you in the door from 7 to 9pm for live music and good eats from dozens of local favorites like Sweet Cheeks Q, The Smoke Shop, State Park, Area Four, and plenty more. VIP ticket holders get in the door (and get fed) an hour early for $85—check out all the options and participants here.

If you’re still hungry the next day (or if you just prefer burgers to barbecue), head back to the same spot for the Battle of the Burger, a heavyweight pattie punch-out featuring Boston Magazine’s 20 finalists for the best burger in town, all competing for your vote. Each restaurant has submitted their special burger, like the Sweet Heat from Bristol Restaurant, a prime beef burger smothered in sweet Fresno jam, or The Merchant‘s All-Natural Burger, topped with aged cheddar, black pepper aioli, house-made bacon, and pickles, served on a brioche bun. Come mow through all the burgers you can manage while enjoying musical performances from the Hot Mess Band and DJ Ryan Brown, and stick around to see who gets crowned Boston’s 2018 Burger Champ. There are plenty of ticket options, but general admission is $75 and gets you in the door at 7pm. Check ‘em all out, including the full burger spread and VIP perks, this way.
