Have your cake and decorate it, too, with professional tips from pastry chef Robert Differ. Head to the Mandarin Oriental on Saturday, December 10th for some sweet schooling from the Bar Boulud chef. You’ll be treated to a six-inch chocolate cake as your canvas, filled with Italian buttercream and pre-iced in your choice of red or green fondant. From 10:30am to 12:00pm, Differ will lead you through the steps to “wrap” your tasty present, using modeling chocolate, edible markers, gold paint detailing and fondant bows. Tickets for the class are available online here for $95 each, including a glass of sparkling wine or a mug of hot cocoa and, of course, your take-home cake.
