Sandbar Tiki Pop-Up

Peter Holmgren/Kimpton Marlowe Hotel Facebook

Sometimes all you want to do after work or a long week is sail away to a remote island. Well, the practicality of that dream is pretty low but here’s the next best thing: Kimpton Marlowe Hotel’s lobby is transforming into the tiki bar you’ve been searching for all summer. Complete with craft cocktails created by Bambara‘s lead bartender Alex Wiegand, you can sip yourself into paradise with drinks like a Coconut Old Fashioned and Jungle Cat. The island vibes don’t end there — Polynesian-style snacks courtesy of Bambara’s Executive Chef David Bazirgan and his creative kitchen team will be served, too. Find steamed buns with pork belly, hoisin and spiced peanuts; poke with mango, avocado, sesame and fried garlic; chicken wings with a teriyaki glaze and pickled jalapeño; and duck confit fried rice with pineapple and cilantro.

The Sandbar Pop-Up is running Mondays to Saturdays between 5:00 and 11:00pm, but it’s time to say goodbye to the oasis on Saturday, August 10th. Don’t forget to come by on a few particular nights where guest bartenders will be swinging past, including Naomi Levy of Better Sorts Social Club on Wednesday, July 31st and Haley Hamilton of Temple Bar and Citizen Public House on Thursday, August 1st. Peep the tiki line-up below, and plan your visit before it’s too late!
