Get ready for a week full of sweets – it’s for a good cause!! – as Bakes for Breast Cancer returns for its twenty-fourth year from Friday, May 12th through Thursday, May 18th. The city-wide fundraiser, which has raised more than 2 million dollars since its inception in 1999, features local bakers, pastry chefs, confectioners and chocolatiers doing what they do best (making amazing desserts) to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.
Participating eateries, and there lots to choose from, will be donating 100% of the proceeds from a designated dessert or 50% of the proceeds from their whole dessert menu so you don’t have to feel even an iota of guilt about wrapping up your meal with something sweet. Whether it’s the Chocolate Bread Pudding with rum caramelized bananas and vanilla bean ice cream at Henrietta’s Table, the Mascarporeo Cookies at Alta Strada, the Strawberry Poke Cake at Ovenbird or Foundry on Elm’s Strawberry Profiteroles with strawberry sauce & chantilly – every little bit(e) helps.
