Bacon and Beer: A Winning Combination

Prepare yourself for one of the tastiest ideas to hit the Boston food scene in a while – on Saturday, April 24th find your way over to the Historic SoWa Power Station for the first annual Bacon and Beer Festival. Get your fill of the smoky, porky goodness by sampling the dishes of 33 Restaurant, 51 Lincoln, Beacon Hill Bistro, The Fireplace, Franklin Café, Garden at the Cellar, Gaslight, Henrietta’s Table, Rialto, Rocca, Stoddard’s, Toro, Turner Fisheries and Union. And don’t forget the beer – there will be ten breweries pouring for your tasting pleasure. If that still doesn’t satisfy all your porcine inclinations, make sure to get a glimpse of the special pig butchery demonstrations being given by chefs Will Gilson, Jamie Bissonnette, Jason Bond and Vadim Akimenko (of Akimenko Meats). The festival, which runs from 2:00 to 6:00pm, will also feature live music from East Coast Soul and tables from a bunch of local artists. Tickets to the event cost $25 each, the proceeds from which go to benefit Community Servings, Share our Strength, South End Youth Baseball and The Juniper Fund – to get yours, visit their website.
