Avila & the American Institute of Wine & Food

On Tuesday, August 26th the American Institute of Wine & Food stops at Avila in the Theater District for a modern Mediterranean menu from chef Rodney Murillo. Reserve one of the 25 seats to sit down to a six-course tasting menu full of simple yet delicious courses like Serrano ham with Manchego and lavender honey; and grilled striped bass with truffle corn salad. Pastry chef Tom Ponticelli brings up the rear with a panna cotta accompanied by fresh seasonal berries. Dinner, which starts at 6:30pm, will be paired choice wines designed to compliment each course. Proceeds from each $75 ticket ($65 for members) support the AIWF, a non-profit organization founded by Julia Child and Robert Mondavi (among others) to advance the understanding and appreciation of food and wine. Intrigued? Check out the AIWF website for more information or to reserve your spot at dinner.
