A Spoonful of Ginger Tasting Benefit

On Wednesday, April 5th starting at 6:00pm, Boston-based chefs representing both Asian and American cuisine will convene at the State Room for A Spoonful of Ginger, an annual tasting event benefiting the Joslin Diabetes Center’s Asian American Diabetes Initiative. Jasper White of the Summer Shack, Bik Fung Ng of Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, cookbook author Nina Simonds (Spoonful of Ginger and Spices of Life) and Joanne Chang of the South End’s Flour Bakery + Café have put together an impressive roster of culinary talent including Jadine Soohoo of Chinatown Café, Zheng Hu of Chilli Garden, Longteine de Monteiro of the Elephant Walk, Andy Wong of Kowloon, Ken Oringer of Clio, Sau Cai of Pho Pastuer and Desmond Cheng of FuGaKyu, among others. The evening’s festivities include a silent auction and entertainment provided by Boston Chinese Chamber Music. Tickets cost $150 per person with proceeds raising money and increase awareness of the growing incidence of diabetes among Asian Americans.
