By Monday, the winner of the World Cup will have been crowned – which clears the decks for another epic battle – the first ever 86 Tournament. The result of coordinated efforts from BostonChefs.com and Rocca Kitchen & Bar, the friendly little soccer tourney pits five-player teams from notable South End restaurants against one another in 35-minute-long matches. Come root for your favorite – Aquitaine, Franklin Café, Ginger Park, Masa, ROCCA Kitchen & Bar and Sibling Rivalry will be lacing up their cleats and taking the field. The action starts at 12:00 at Rotch Field on Harrison Avenue. Teams have been encouraged to get creative when it comes to their uniforms – prizes (for most fashionable/creative uniform and the actual winning team) will be awarded at a post-tournament reception on ROCCA’s outdoor patio. Parking is available at Rocca so come on by around noon to see who gets 86ed.
