Jonathan Post

Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Jonathan Post began working in restaurants at the age of 16 and after a series of detours, found his way to culinary school, ultimately earning a degree from Johnson & Wales in Providence, Rhode Island. Upon graduation, he began a career in the Boston area and has been fortunate to work directly with some of the region’s — and nation’s — most talented chefs and celebrated New England restaurants including Blue Ginger, 80 Thoreau, and Moody’s Delicatessen.

In 2016, Post had the opportunity to open a restaurant of his own: The Porch in Wakefield, Massachusetts. With the music turned up and the door open, the tiny 20-seat spot filled with New Englanders who loved his authentic southern cooking.

In spring 2018 he and his partner Cenk Emre closed The Porch in anticipation of opening a new and larger version of his small Southern restaurant. The Porch Southern Fare and Juke Joint opened in July 2019 in Medford. He and his team work hard to create a “Nashville of the North,” serving authentic Southern dishes in a space that celebrates the music, art, food, drink, and incomparable hospitality of the American South.
