A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, Chef Brian Alberg is the Vice President of Culinary Development for Main Street Hospitality, a privately held hotel management company originally founded at The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA, a 125-room historic hotel with one seasonal and three year round restaurants. Alberg also oversees Eat on North Restaurant at the boutique Hotel on North in Pittsfield.
Alberg oversees all aspects of food and beverage operations at Main Street Hospitality. A portfolio, that in addition to The Red Lion Inn and Hotel on North, includes The Porches Inn at MASS MoCA in North Adams, The Briarcliff Motel in Great Barrington, Hammetts Hotel in Newport and The Tap House in West Stockbridge, a fun, unpretentious restaurant serving comfort food and local craft beers. In additional, Main Street Hospitality also runs several offsite cafés at cultural venues, and Main Street Hospitality Catering.
Alberg has made numerous guest chef appearances at the James Beard House and selected repeatedly for Outstanding in the Field. He has been a featured chef at the New York Food and Wine Festival, WGBY Artisan Food and Wine Festival, the Boston stops of the James Beard Taste America Tour, Nantucket Wine Festival and the Tanglewood Food and Wine Festival. He has been spotlighted in segments on Good Morning America, New England Chronicles, WGBY-TV and Fox News Radio.
Alberg is the founding chair of Berkshire Farm & Table, a board member and mentor for the Railroad Street Youth Project, a board member of the Norman Rockwell museum, and past board president and member of Berkshire Grown. He is actively involved in the Chef’s Collaborative, BostonChefs, and the James Beard Foundation.
