As Massachusetts continues to reemerge from the shutdown, restaurants are getting their al fresco areas up and running for dine-in patrons. Read on for a curated list of some of the best decks, patios, rooftops and sidewalk spots where you can enjoy a good meal while maintaining your social distance from fellow diners. You can sort by neighborhood if you’re looking for something nearby or just scroll to see if your regular hang is on the list — we’ll be adding restaurants as they open for on-site dining so stay tuned and definitely check back for updates.
Word to the wise: we’ll be adjusting the info below as the situation continues to evolve and restaurants figure out what works for them (and you!) so it’s still probably your best bet to give the restaurant a ring to make sure they can accommodate you.

They've closed down a portion of Moody Street in Waltham and set up patio seating so you can enjoy a curated menu of favorites from The Backroom at Moody's and Pollo Club. There's even free parking across from the fire station and on Chestnut Street.
Here's what you need to know about the outdoor dining area at Mooncusser's Fish House: this sandwich awaits you there. Make a beeline for Stuart Street to enjoy goodies like this and more from the Cusser's Roast Beef pop-up, currently in residence at the Back Bay seafood spot (there are hot and cold lobster rolls and fish tacos, too).
Take your cone (or cup, as the case may be) out onto the sidewalk patio at New City Microcreamery. The sleek perch is flanked by wooden planters bursting with summer blooms and, best of all, it’s covered so you can linger outside whether you’re cooling down with your favorite naturally-made flavor or enjoying a rainy day treat.
