If the debate tonight is between steak and Italian, head to the Seaport and let Davio’s settle the score. Featuring handmade pasta and regional specialties that lean heavily on the grill, Davio’s Seaport offers Northern Italian and fine steakhouse fare in an elegant, soaring space sure to impress even the pickiest of dates.

The menu reads like a who’s who of the best ingredients around, from San Marzano tomatoes in the sauce to Brandt beef over an open flame. Davio’s Seaport serves lunch during the week and dinner every night, with an expansive selection of antipasti and a bountiful raw bar to start things off along with a range of seasonal salads that are hardly garden variety. There’s a whole section of house-made pasta, another for Davio’s Classics, and an a la carte section where you can select your preferred cut of beef (dry aged? Japanese Wagyu?) and custom sides. There’s also a gluten free dinner menu and simpler stuff for the kids.

One of the best reasons to visit the Seaport is to dine near the water, and Davio’s doesn’t disappoint. Grab a cocktail at the expansive bar with views of the harbor while you wait for your table in beneath the lofty dining room ceilings. The enormous pillars might feel palatial, but each table with its white linens and high-backed chairs feels intimate, warmed by the glow of the open kitchen. For a special evening, reserve the 10-seat Chef’s Table right in front of the action, and in warmer months you can dine by the sea outside on the patio.

Speaking of that big bar, they’re pouring local craft beers and a curated list of seasonal cocktails alongside a staggering wine list. Choose from 20 whites, rosés, and reds by the glass, or from more than 400 bottle selections from Italy and California. And for casual bar guests just dropping in for a bite, yes, they have a burger.
