If you’ve got a wicked ping pong serve, then get yourself to Commonwealth for Nookie’s 1st annual Ping Pong Extravaganza on Tuesday, March 17th. In celebration of March Madness, St. Patrick’s Day and the (supposedly) coming spring, Commonwealth invites the city’s 64 best ping-pongers to show their stuff. The heat is on with the single elimination tournament, where games are played to 11 and matches are best 2 out of 3, and chef Nookie Postal has promised a big prize for the champion. Admission costs $25 per person and includes one free drink and snacks throughout the afternoon (2:00-6:00pm), so you can bring your cheerleading squad to keep your morale high. A portion of proceeds will benefit Inner City Weightlifting, a Boston organization that uses fitness training as a way to reduce violence and promote personal growth in urban youth.
