Bubbles & Butter

Menton toasts the arrival of dairy luminary Diane St. Clair and her super small batch butter with An Evening of Champagne & Butter on Tuesday, September 16th. Chef Scott Jones’ decadent five-course menu incorporates the renowned, handmade product, which is only available at a handful of restaurants in the country (No. 9 Park, Per Se, French Laundry and The Inn at Little Washington), into courses like butter soup with shellfish, caviar and honey, and beef ribeye with milk-braised veal, eggplant and matsutake. Babette, the Jersey cow for which the product is named, will not be making the trip from her Vermont pasture at the Animal Farm creamery but Wine Director Cat Silirie has picked some artisanal bubblies from the portfolio of Champagne importer, Terry Theise, to accompany each course.
