A Tapas Takedown on Tremont Street

Andy Husbands was never one to shy away from a challenge. On Monday, January 14th the Tremont 647 chef will face off against Jeremy Sewall (Eastern Standard, Lineage & Island Creek Oyster Bar) and Karen Akunowicz (Myers + Chang) in a tapas battle for the ages – well, 2013 at least. Here’s the lo-down: each of the three chefs will be tasked with creating a menu item for each of three categories – oysters (of the Island Creek variety of course), sustainable seafood (of the chefs’ choosing) and steak. A group of judges will decide the winner at the end of the evening based on taste, presentation and creativity. Of course, we all know the real winners here are those in attendance, who for $29 per person, get to sample each dish and enjoy a sangria and passed app reception when doors open at 6:00pm.
