Hold onto your hats, oenophiles - the Wine Riot is back in town and this year they're doing things a little differently. On Saturday, April 17th you can revel in that good ol' unpretentious, wine-centric fun you've come to expect from the riot, with a barrel full of wine tastings, experts imparting vinous knowledge and food pairings from Redbones, Masa, Legal Seafoods, Upper Crust and Tremont 647, not to mention a DJ, lounge and some debaucherously quirky photo booth opportunities. There'll even be a few crash courses featuring wine experts from Grill 23, The Beehive and Westport Rivers. This evening will include two sessions (1:00-5:00pm and 7:00- 11:00pm), the tickets for which cost $45 each. However, if you're in the mood for something a little effervescent, find your way over to the Cyclorama on Friday, April 16th when the Riot holds its first annual Night of Bubbles featuring a selection of Champagnes, cavas, proseccos and other sparkling wines. Taza chocolates, Kickass Cupcakes and Cabot Cheese will be in attendance to pair your bubbly with something tasty. You'll also get the chance to learn a little something about sabrage - just don't stand too close. Tickets for the Night of Bubbles, which runs from 7:00 to 11:00pm, cost $55 per person. For more info on one or both of the winey evenings, or to purchase your tickets, visit the event website.
