UpStairs on the Square is hosting two times the tea-time fun moving their traditional Holiday Tea to Sundays this holiday season and leaving Saturday afternoons free for Children's Zebra Tea. Pick a Saturday during the month of December and gather the little ones together for an afternoon excursion - from 3:00 to 5:00pm the restaurant will be offering a family-friendly extravaganza of culinary delights including marzipan chocolate mice, grilled cheese and PB&J tea sandwiches (crusts off, of course), hot cocoa, black and white brownies and lots of holiday cookies. Bring a new stuffed zebra (or another stuffed animal) and it will be donated to Children's Hospital Boston come Christmas - ‘tis the season for giving, after all. On Sundays from 2:00 to 4:30pm, the Soiree room is all teatime sophistication with more traditional Holiday Tea offerings from chef Steven Brand, whose tea trays are filled with artisanal savories, tea sandwiches, Christmas cookies and bite-sized Christmas sweets, as well as homemade Valrhona hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows. The cost of the adult tea is $28 (or $35 if you prefer to throw in some sparkling wine) while the children's tea is just $15. Call 617.864.1933 to make reservations and make sure that your holiday is merry and bright.
