Boston
Bakes for Breast Cancer is Back
More
than a hundred restaurants, bakeries, cafés,
cupcakeries and chocolatiers in and around Boston will
be whipping up special desserts to help the fight against
cancer for Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer.
From Monday, May 5th through Sunday, May 11th, each
establishment will be donating 100% of the proceeds
from the designated dessert to breast cancer research
and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – all
you have to do is order and enjoy. This year’s
event, the 9th annual, is in honor of Finale pastry
chef Nicole
Coady’s mother and grandmother who
have both undergone successful treatment for breast

Wine Tastings at Mertiage
Wine
lovers, mark your calendars for Thursday, May 15th – that’s
when Meritage at
the Boston Harbor Hotel kicks off their Thursday
Wine Tasting Series. The team at Meritage,
where the menu is built around the wine, will be plucking
bottles from their 12,000-deep collection for guests
to sample alongside some small plates from chef Daniel
Bruce. The inaugural tasting event will
highlight some standout rosés. The tasting,
which runs from 5:30-7:00pm, costs $25 per person.

Park’s Boston 2012 Dinner on
Monday, May 5th. Chef-owner Barbara
Lynch gives some up-and-comers a chance
to shine on a collaborative seven-course tasting menu.
The evening gets underway at 6:30pm with hors d’oeuvres
followed by dinner at 7:15pm from Colin Lynch of No.
9 Park, Andres Grundy of Clio, Jonathan
Nagar and Dan Scampoli of Craigie
Street Bistrot, Kasey Piuma of Oleana, Yukihiro
Kawaguchi of O Ya, and Leo
Asaro and Kevin Walsh of Radius.
Even the evening's wines will be selected by sommelier-in-training
Kate Smith, assistant to The No. 9 Group Wine Director
Cat Silirie. The dinner, which will be like a sneak preview
of what’s in store for Boston’s restaurant
scene, costs $175 per person not including tax or gratuity.

Launches Spring Wine Diner Series
Getting
ready for an early season excursion to the Vineyard? Lure at
the Winnetu Hotel is launching their 2008 Spring
Wine Diner Series, so plan accordingly. Starting
on Friday, May 2nd, the weekly series features wines
from renowned wineries and importers as paired with
chef Mark
Goldberg’s farm-to-table cuisine.
The dinners, which cost $95 per person ($85 for guests
of the hotel) get underway at 6:30pm with an hors d'oeuvres
and aperitif reception followed by a four-course dinner.
Special well-versed guests from the wineries or distributors
will be on hand to introduce the wine and answer any
questions. Space has been limited to create an intimate
and attentive feel and reservations are required. Save
