After 1500 services or so, Union’s Square’s Journeyman will be closing up shop. Citing Somerville’s changing landscape (houses in the area were half the price when they opened in 2010), evolving culinary culture (a waning desire to think too hard about food and drink) and even politics (immigration reform and health care were still in the works), the team announced that they’ll be open for service until Saturday, June 3rd and then hosting a send-off soiree later in the month. It’ll be business as usual for Backbar, though the drink-focused spot will be getting a new restaurant neighbor in Sanborn Court before summer’s out.
