Kendall Sq. Welcomes The Smoke Shop

Good Life Productions

Where there’s smoke, there’s bound to be delicious BBQ, if Andy Husbands is involved. The Tremont 647 chef-owner, pitmaster and cookbook author brings his award-winning barbecue to a Kendall Square brick-and-mortar with the anticipated opening of The Smoke Shop, which is now officially open for business. The 150-seat restaurant will focus on revolutionizing the barbecue scene in Boston with an array of slow-cooked and smoky offerings. Husbands has cut his barbecue teeth with Pitmaster Chris Hart and their competitive IQUE team, which won the 2009 Jack Daniels World BBQ Championship (among other accolades). Guests can expect dishes like pulled pork, fried chicken, corn bread and other expertly-executed classics—including one whole hog available each night for parties of 10 or more. One of the biggest selections of American whiskey in New England and live music every Thursday through Sunday means things are heating up in Cambridge. Head over to the new neighborhood spot between 11:00am and 11:00pm, to see for yourself. You can also give ’em a ring at 617.577.7427 if you’ve got questions about the ‘que (or the queue).
