Something Bubbly in Boston

Bookend your next Bar Boulud trip with bubbles, thanks to the December debut of the Mandarin Oriental’s pop-up Champagne lounge. Starting Thursday, December 3rd, you can indulge in the exclusive effervescence at the hotel’s grand lobby, with pours from family-owned Champagne Taittinger. They’ll be offering two of the sparklers by the glass and six by the bottle as well as a series of hand-crafted cocktails to show off the Champagnes. Try the Boylston Blizzard with vanilla, brandy and Luxardo cherry or the Nor’Eastern with honey, pear, ginger and fresh sage. A limited menu of New England-inspired cuisine will round out the experience—think oysters du jour, Wellfleet clams and petite brioche of Gloucester lobster—plus macarons and chocolate bonbons from pastry chef Robert Differ. You can stop by the seasonal Champagne lounge Wednesday through Sunday from 3:00pm to 10:00pm. Call the Mandarin at 617.603.2987 for more info.
