Where the Pros Go on St. Patrick’s Day

Sure, you can make the trek to Faneuil Hall to join the crowds at the Purple Shamrock or the Black Rose but, from our research, it seems like folks who take their beverages seriously are more likely to stick close to home, opting instead to head to their neighborhood pub for a pint or something slightly stronger.

Adam Chase, for example, Boston-based instructor for Wine and Spirits Education Trust, an international wine educational program, makes for Matt Murphy’s in Brookline Village where they pour the perfect pint of Guinness.

Author and blogger Meghan Malloy, who writes TravelEatLove.com, raises a glass of hot Bushmills with sugar, lemon, and clove at her local pub, The Banshee in Dorchester.

Brand Enchantress Emily O’Brien of the Urban Wine Project in Lynn isn’t within sauntering distance of her St. Patrick’s Day libation of choice but she heads for O’Neill’s in Salem or Kitty O’Shea’s in Beverly to enjoy a Whiskey Ginger.
