Two New Fenway Spots from the Franklin Team

With not one but TWO new projects opening in the Fenway the folks from The Franklin are looking at a pretty busy summer.

First up: Citizen Pub, located on the corner of Boylston and Jersey Streets, is slated to open at the end of July. The casual, neighborhood spot will woo diners and with an affordable chef-driven menu of American tavern fare which might include snacks like mac and goat cheese or more substantial dishes like whole roasted lemon-dressed bass. They’ll seal the deal with craft cocktails, a great wine list, twelve microbrews on tap, an extensive whiskey list, outdoor seating and, as you’d expect from The Franklin team, a late night dining scene.

On deck: Tasty Burger, a funky, burger joint scheduled to open mid-August in the former Mobil gas station on Boylston Street. The menu has all the usual burger joint suspects – sandwiches, hotdogs, fries, onion rings, milkshakes and slushies – but this is more than just your average 50s era-inspired spot. They’ve got beer and wine, and burgers get dressed up with toppings like caramelized and crispy onion, chipotle mayo, melted blue cheese, or pineapple and teriyaki sauce (like on the Big Kahuna burger). You can order a single or a double, with or without cheese and you can get a bag of five to take away. Once it’s open for business, tasty Burger will be open until 2:00am every day.
