Lamb Lovers Rejoice – It’s Time for the Lamb Jam

Mary had a little lamb but you can have a lot – in fact, you can stuff yourself on the other red meat at the Lamb Jam Boston, scheduled for Sunday, March 7th at the Charles Hotel. More than a dozen Boston-based chefs (and one Cape Cod-based chef) will be paying tribute to American lamb, preparing savory little morsels of meaty goodness to be paired with a selection of locally brewed beers. Pick up a couple tickets (for $33.10 each, in honor of approaching Restaurant Week) and you can see how the best of the best handle lamb – participants include Gregory Griffie of 606 Congress, Camillo Diaz of Casablanca, Joseph Margate of Clink, Dante de Magistris of dante, Jim Solomon of The Fireplace, Brian Reyelt of Franklin Cafe, Will Gilson of Garden at the Cellar, Matt Redinger of Gourmet Caterers, Peter Davis of Henrietta’s Table, Michael Leviton of Lumière, Toby T. Hill of Pain D’Avignon, Chris Parsons of Parsons Table, Ben Knack of Sel de la Terre and Justin Melnick of Tomasso Trattoria. Between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00pm, chefs, working with loin, shank or leg of lamb, will compete for the title of Lamb Champion, $1000 for the charity of their choice, and, of course, bragging rights. To purchase tickets and to get all the details (including the paired beers) go to the event website.
