As the temperature rises outside, sommelier Paul Westerkamp hones in on some warm weather-appropriate wines in his Hot Off the Vine wine tasting series at 33 Restaurant & Lounge. Take your pick from among the monthly offerings - a flight tasting, a cheese pairing, a wine class and a grand tasting. Executive chef Joshua Botsford gets in on the fun by sending out some expertly prepared food pairings. Hot Off the Vine events vary in price though you can get all the details below. Thursday, June 4th - Flight Tasting
Take a seat at the bar between 5:00 and 7:00pm to get a flight tasting of some new releases for $20 per person.
Thursday, June 11th - Wine & Cheese Tasting
Pair three summer wines with three cheeses in this tasting which runs from 5:00 to 7:00pm and costs $25 per person.
Thursday, June 18th - Wine Class
From 6:30 to 8:00pm you can sample a variety of wines as well as uses the "Le Nez du Vin", a wine aroma kit, to help you understand them. This hands on class costs $30 per person and runs from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
Thursday, June 25th - Grand Tasting
Drop in on the Grand Tasting from 5:00-7:00pm to try the 2001 Alphonse Mellot "Cuvee Edmund" (Sancerre, FR) Sauvignon Blanc; 2005 Franciscan "Stylus" (Napa Valley, US) Cabernet Sauvignon; and 1998 Nicolas Potel "Malconsorts" 1er (Vosne-Romanée, FR) Pinot Noir for $50 per person.
