Marissa Iocco Heads for the Suburbs

Chef and restaurateur Marissa Iocco, the driving culinary force behind some of Boston's best Italian restaurants, is leaving the city in favor of some suburban scenery. Leaving a long trail of award-winning eateries in her wake - Galleria Italiana, La Bettola, South End Galleria, Bricco, Mare, Umbria and Trattoria Il Panino - Iocco ups the ante at Needham's Tuscan influenced Spiga. As executive chef, she'll be creating a whole host of tantalizing new menu items like Abruzzese fish and shellfish risotto in brodetto; and eggplant with pasta "sails" and fresh mint. Spiga is open daily, serving lunch and dinner so make the drive out to Needham to see Iocco in action - call 781.449.5600 for reservations.
