Super Hunger Month 2009
January is a big month for the Greater Boston Food Bank - it's Super Hunger Month - and they've got a great bunch of events planned, all of them raising money to help end hunger. See how you can lend your support by participating in the Super Hunger Brunch, the Super Hunger Chef Challenge or the Super Hunger Auction. Check below for details about each event, or go to the Greater Boston Food Bank website for the whole rundown and to make reservations, purchase tickets or start bidding.
Super Hunger Brunch
On Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th, take advantage of the good will, not to mention the good food, of some of Boston's best chefs as they participate in the Super Hunger Brunch. More than twenty restaurants will be offering specially designed, multi-course brunch menus for $25, $35 or $50, depending. Book your table at Bambara, Blue Ginger, Caliterra, Chez Henri, Davio's, EVOO, The Fireplace, Garden at the Cellar, Grill 23 & Bar, Hamersley's, Kingfish Hall, L'Espalier, Mare, Pigalle, Rialto, Rocca, Sage, Sel de la Terre, Sibling Rivalry, Tavolo, Tosca, and Vox Populi.
Super Hunger Chef Challenge
On Wednesday, January 21st head to the Four Seasons Hotel to witness this year's installment of the Super Hunger Chef Challenge. Chefs Anthony Susi of Sage, Gabriel Frasca of Straight Wharf, Will Gilson of Garden at the Cellar and Evan Deluty of Stella will compete in a culinary throw down using only ingredients stocked by the Greater Boston Food Bank. Enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres as you watch these four talented chefs flex their culinary muscles and raise as much money for a good cause as they possibly can.
Super Hunger Online Auction
From Sunday, January 18th through Sunday, January 25th bid on a wide range of auction items - tickets to sporting events, cooking classes, hotel packages and culinary items from local chefs at restaurants like Ashmont Grill, Hamersley's and Blue Ginger. Take a peek at the items that are up on the block and start bidding to do your part to help end hunger.
