Talkin’ ‘bout Southern Cookin’ at the BCAE

Virginia Willis Blog

Get schooled in the ways of Southern hospitality and cuisine courtesy of two Georgia born chefs. The Boston Center for Adult Education pairs Brian Poe of the Tip Tap Room and Poe’s Kitchen with chef and cookbook author Virginia Willis for a conversation about the ingredients, people and culinary traditions from below the Mason Dixon. Annie B. Copps, chef and food writer, will be facilitating the discussion, which starts at 6:00pm on Thursday, August 20th. A reception will follow featuring Poe’s interpretations of recipes from any of Willis’ five cookbooks including the most recent, Lighten Up, Y’All, which will be available for purchase. The chat costs $20 per person which is nothing if you can get either of these two gurus to share the trick to perfect fried chicken or the secret to making the best biscuit ever.
