Rise and shine…and rumble.  Post 390 pastry chef Craig Williams welcomes back reigning champ Lauren Kroesser of Eastern Standard and Island Creek Oyster Bar and a host of competitors for the annual Rise & Rumble Donut Throwdown. From 12:00-2:00pm on Sunday, October 4th, attendees will taste each chef’s take on the sweet breakfast treat, then cast votes to determine this year’s victor. Among the challengers: Brian Mercury of Harvest, Stephen Collucci of Colicchio & Sons, Jaime Davis Schick of Deuxave, Maura Kilpatrick of Sofra Bakery and Justin Burke-Samson of Modern Gramma and Trademark Tarts. Tickets are $30, available here, and include donuts, a brunch buffet, coffee bar and a complimentary toast to the winner.  Sounds good, donut?
