Calling all cookers and gluttons for punishment – Hell’s Kitchen is casting in Boston. On Thursday, May 31st, chef/blowhard Gordon Ramsey brings his search for talented up-and-comers/punching bags to Savin Bar & Kitchen in Dorchester. If you think you’ve got what it takes, bring your resume (and pictures of your food or video of yourself cooking, if you’re so inclined) to 112 Savin Hill Avenue between 3:00 and 7:00pm. All skill levels are welcome; you just have to be at least 21 years old and able to stand the heat (otherwise, you know what they say…) Consult the website for details.

Chef Jason Santos of Blue Inc. tells us he earned his spot on the 2010 season by putting his feet upon the casting director’s desk and asking her out (so to speak) at his casting call. Or maybe it was just his blue hair that caught her attention. Either way, he tells would-be contestants to skip the platitudes (everyone there is competitive and loves to cook) and let them see your personality. You have about sixty seconds to make an impression. Make the most of it.
