On Sunday, September 14th, celebrate the bounty of locally farmed bivalves at the first annual Bay State Farmed Shellfish Shindig at the Boston Beer Company Brewery in Jamaica Plain. Growers from all over Massachusetts – from Duxbury Harbor to Katama Bay – will be shucking, sautéing, searing and selling their respective specialties (for a small fee) and talking a bit about the importance of maintaining sustainable harvesting practices. Chef Will Gilson of Garden at the Cellar will also be on hand serving up some tasty morsels from his summer menu.
