Accomplished journalist and author Julie Scelfo will be making an appearance at Alden & Harlow to showcase her first book, The Women Who Made New York. Scelfo, a former correspondent at Newsweek, and staff writer and regular contributor to the New York Times, has written for Salon, O, The Oprah Magazine, Epicurious and Time Out New York. On Thursday, June 22nd, she’ll be chatting with local trailblazers Ana Sortun (Oleana, Sarma and Sofra), Cheryl Cronin (Boston Public Market), Jody Adams (Porto, Saloniki and Trade) and Toni Elka (Future Chefs). Following the panel, there’ll be a book signing with drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres. Tickets for the whole affair, which starts at 5:30pm, cost $40 each.
